This antique Victorian era black silk lace carved grape leaf handle parasol dates from the 1880s. It is made of a black silk fabric, with a sheer black net lace ruffle trim edging. There is a decorative carved relief bone handle, with a raised grape leaf vine design and engraved monogrammed initials M.W.H. It is fully lined in black silk, with a wooden shaft and finial top. The parasol measures 30 inches long and is 80 inches in circumference when opened up. It is in good useable condition, with only a small hairline crack in the bone handle (see close-up). This is truly a rare and wonderful mourning parasol!
