Victorian Antique Colorful Silk Chenille Fringe Hand Woven Braided Rag Rug

This Victorian era antique colorful silk chenille fringe hand woven braided rag rug dates from 1890. It is hand woven and braided with colorful soft silk chenille in a patchwork design, with a double layer of black silk tassel fringe trim along the two ends. This beautiful hand made rag rug has been used as a wall hanging, with added linen loop tabs sewn onto the back for hanging and has wonderful workmanship. The rug measures 52 inches long, 20 inches wide, with 6 inch long tassels. It is in good condition and came straight out of a trunk. There is some loose fringe and tassels off one end (see close-up). This is truly a fabulous piece of antique textile folk art!
