This antique Baluch Khorjin double saddlebag pair woven kilims dates from 1900. It is made of a flat tapestry woven rug kilim with wool warp, weft weave graphic pattern design, with bands of weft wrapping, all done in natural dyes. This large size Khorjin double sided saddlebag would have been draped over the back of a donkey, horse or camel and would have been sewn closed with lacing along the top openings to secure the contents during travel. Each saddlebag measures 26 by 26 inches, with an 8 inch wide gap between bags for a total length of 60 inches long. It is quite heavy weighing over 9 pounds and is in good condition, with only a worn hole near the center gap for draping over the saddle horn. This is a wonderful piece of Persian tribal kilim art!
