These antique Victorian era pansy forget me not black silk embroidered mourning braces suspenders date from 1880. They are made of black silk, with purple and pink pansy, forget me not flowers done in raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work. The suspenders are backed in an off white silk fabric, with black elastic straps and leather button loop attachments for attaching to the pants. The suspenders measure 33 inches long and are 2 inches wide. These beautiful braces suspenders would have been worn for loving remembrance during the mourning period. They are in good condition, with only some fraying of the silk lining backing inside and some wear to the leather loops. This is truly a wonderful piece of men's Victoriana mourning textile art!
