This antique Victorian era hand painted figural bone small brise dance fan dates from the 19th century. It is made entirely of a carved bone sticks, with a hand painted 18th century figural floral design on the front, a blue ribbon bow floral garland design on the back and gold gilt accents. The sticks and guards are tied together and have blue silk ribbon woven along the top holding the sticks together and a paste diamond rivet holding the fan together at the bottom. This pretty petite small brise style dance fan measures 6 inches long and 10 inches wide when opened. It is in good condition, with some wear, paint loss and a broken piece missing on one stick near the center (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of hand painted art!
