It is made of a silver metallic leather, with colorful silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work outlined in gold metallic thread stumpwork done in an abstract Jacobean floral acorn butterfly design.

This vintage Art Deco floral stumpwork embroidered silver leather evening purse dates from the 1930s. It is made of a silver metallic leather, with colorful silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work outlined in gold metallic thread stumpwork done in an abstract Jacobean floral acorn butterfly design. This pretty purse has a silver metal frame, with push top release closure, a chain link strap, silver silk satin sides and lining with inside pockets and coin purse. I found two ticket stubs inside from the Metropolitan Opera 1968 and Grauman's Chinese Theatre 1971. The purse measures 9 inches long and 5 inches wide. It is in good condition, with only some wear to the silver leather which has rubbed off in areas. This is truly a wonderful piece of embroidered textile art!
