It is made of a scalloped petal blue silk fabric cut and shaped like a feather, with hand sewn tiny silver sequins on the front mounted on sticks.

There are carved and pierced bone sticks and guards, with silver inlays and a brass loop, mother of pearl rivet attached onto the bottom holding the fan together. This pretty petite fan became fashionable during the popularity of the famous vocalist Jenny Lind and might have been used by a lady for a ball dance or wedding. The fan measures 8 inches long and 19 inches wide when opened. It is in good condition, with only a few missing silver sequins, inlays and some slight fraying on the silk. This is truly a fabulous fan and great piece of antique Victoriana art!
