It is made of a black silk fabric, with colorful pastel silk raised padded satin stitch and gold metallic thread couching hand embroidery work.

This antique Chinese silk embroidered spider chrysanthemum tassel purse dates from the 1920s. It is made of a black silk fabric, with colorful pastel silk raised padded satin stitch and gold metallic thread couching hand embroidery work. There are spider chrysanthemum flowers and bamboo stalks embroidered on both sides with Peking knots on the flower stamens. This pretty purse has been beautifully embroidered and created into a pouch bag style purse, with a two black glass circular loop ring handles on top for carrying. It is fully lined inside in silk, with 4 inch long black silk tassels knotted on each side for decoration. The purse measures 13 by 10 inches. It is in excellent condition. This is truly a wonderful one of a kind piece of antique Chinese textile art!
