This antique Victorian era silk embroidered fancy needlework applique crazy quilt dates from the late 19th century. It is hand stitched, made of a wide variety of colorful silk, brocade, velvet dress fabric pieces with decorative varying stitching techniques, French knots, embroidery, fancy needlework, appliques. This amazing crazy quilt has a unique pattern design, with a variety of flowers, leaves, butterflies, birds, fish, strawberries and a door. There is an iridescent green silk fabric backing with red trim binding edging. This charming quilt has been beautifully hand made with wonderful workmanship. The quilt measures 80 by 67 inches. It is in good condition, with only 3 frayed damaged pieces (see close-ups). It came straight out of a trunk and has not been cleaned. This is truly a rare wonderful piece of antique quilt textile folk art!
