This antique Victorian Civil War era black silk ebony folding handle marquis mourning parasol dates from the 1860s. It is made of a black silk fabric, with ruffle trim edging along the bottom. There is a black ebony wood carved handle and folding shaft, with a marquis tilt top mechanism inside to keep the sun off your face. It is lined inside with black silk. The parasol measures 27 inches long extended, 16 inches long when folded and the fabric outside is 56 inches in circumference when opened up. It is in as-is fair condition, with a large split rip on the outer fabric and a few small splits on the inside silk lining (see close-ups). This is still a wonderful antique Victoriana mourning parasol! |
