|
This antique Chinese silk damask weave brocade fabric Mangpao dragon square badge textile dates from the early 19th century during the Qing Dynasty. It is made of a blue silk damask weave brocade fabric with a colorful thread woven design. There is a "mang" four clawed dragon, with smoke clouds, a pearl and fire flames. This fabric might have been part of an Imperial Manchu Mangpao dragon robe and has been cut into a square badge, with a silk striped woven fabric trim border edging and backed in a blue cotton fabric. The square measures 14 1/2 by 13 inches. It is in good condition, with only some minor wear on the silk weave (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful and rare piece of antique Chinese textile art! |
