This antique Victorian era wool velvet chenille embroidered ribbonwork bedspread blanket dates from the late 19th century. It is made of a beige khaki color wool fabric center with colorful chenille embroidery, French knots, fancy ribbonwork and a dark red burgundy velvet fabric trim border edging. This beautiful bedspread blanket has a floral wheat wreath design embroidered in the center and varying bouquets of three dimensional rosette flowers done in each corner, with a grape leaf, raised gold thread wrapped fruit. There is a red polished cotton fabric lining backing, with red velvet and braided metallic rope trim edging. This amazing throw has been beautifully hand made with wonderful workmanship. The bedspread measures 80 by 72 inches. It is in good condition, with only a few small moth nips in the corner. This is truly an exceptional piece of antique Victoriana textile art!
