This antique Victorian era Italian ricordo souvenir hand painted wooden cockade flirting mirror fan dates from 1900. It is made of wood with a hand painted inlaid bird, "Ricordo" the Italian word for remembrance, souvenir on one side and a oval shape mirror for flirting on the other side. There is pleated paper with a green and red floral print rococo designs and white lace trim edging. This unique cockade style souvenir fan opens into a complete circle around the pivot when the top string is pulled. The fan measures 10 inches long and 30 inches in circumference. It is in good condition, with only some minor wear along the paper print designs (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of hand fan art work!
