This antique Victorian era black silk hand painted roses grape leaf wood carved handle parasol dates from the 1870s. It is made of a black silk fabric with hand painted red roses and a frayed edge scalloped ruffle trim edging. There is a decorative carved relief wood handle, with a three dimensional grape leaf vine design wrapped around it and finial top. This pretty parasol is lined in a white silk fabric. The parasol measures 21 inches long and is 50 inches in circumference when opened up. It is in good condition, with only some slight wear to the paint on the rose decoration and a few small splits on the white silk fabric lining inside (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of ladies antique Victoriana parasol art!
