It is made of a black silk fabric lining underneath, covered with a sheer fine black Chantilly lace fabric overlay outlined in black threads with detailed shading effects done in a floral pattern Swiss dot design and scalloped border edging

This antique Victorian era black Chantilly lace carved pierced finial handle parasol dates from 1870. It is made of a black silk fabric lining underneath, covered with a sheer fine black Chantilly lace fabric overlay outlined in black threads with detailed shading effects done in a floral pattern Swiss dot design and scalloped border edging. This pretty parasol has a decorative carved pierced hollow bone handle and fancy finial top. The bone handle unscrews from the brass metal mechanism frame (see close-up). The parasol measures 23 inches long, with a 6 inch long bone handle and is 55 inches in circumference when opened up. It is in good as-is condition, with the silk inside lining having some damage with several frayed splits and holes, and some small breaks in the lace on the top around the finial (see close-ups). This is truly a rare and wonderful antique Victoriana parasol!
