Victorian Antique Black Silk Damask Maple Leaf Carved Wood Folding Handle Parasol This antique Victorian Civil War era black silk damask maple leaf carved wood folding handle parasol dates from the 1860s.

This antique Victorian Civil War era black silk damask maple leaf carved wood folding handle parasol dates from the 1860s. It is made of a faded black silk damask weave maple leaf pattern brocade fabric, with dark black silk fringe trim edging along the bottom. This pretty parasol has a decorative carved turned wood folding shaft with sliding brass ring cap to hold in place, a fish hook style carved handle, bone finial ring top with fringe trim and attached strap to hold fabric closed. The parasol measures 28 inches long extended, 16 inches long when folded, the fabric cover is 10 inches long, 20 inches wide and has 4 inch long fringe trim. It is in good as-is condition, with only two broken wooden spokes inside (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful early antique Victoriana parasol needing some restoration repair!
