This antique Moroccan gold metallic embroidered double saddle messenger bag dates from early 20th century. It is made of a black heavy cotton twill canvas fabric with gold metallic thread embroidery work and knotted gold tassel sequin ends trim hanging down from the bottom. This beautiful bag would have been used over a saddle and could be carried over the shoulder. It is attached at the top with leather backed straps and has an envelope style pouch with metal fasteners and lined inside in a homespun linen. Each bag measures 12x12 inches, with a 14 inch shoulder strap connecting them and 4 1/2 inch long tassels. It is in good as-is condition, with some wear and is missing 1 tassel. This is truly a wonderful one of a kind piece of antique tribal ethnic embroidered Moroccan textile art!
