This vintage Thomas Nast Dickens Pickwick Papers novelty print chintz fabric yardage dates from the 1940s. It is made of a printed multicolored glazed finished cotton chintz fabric with a colorful patchwork quilt style print of the illustrations done by Thomas Nast in 1873 for Charles Dickens first novel The Pickwick Papers. It has illustrated cartoons of Samuel Pickwick in compromising positions. This charming caricature cartoon fabric has an "Everglaze VAT Colors Pre Shrunk" label stamped along the side selvage. The fabric measures 49 by 36 inches. It is in good condition, cut unevenly at the bottom. This is truly a wonderful whimsical antique Victorian style Dickens print fabric!
