This Victorian era antique large banquet size jacquard loom wool black center paisley dates from the late 19th century. It is made of jacquard loomed woven wool done in vibrant vivid colors of predominantly red, orange, gold, green, turquoise blue, black and white. These paisley shawls were made in Kashmir and Europe in Scotland at Paisley itself. This stunning shawl has wonderful workmanship and detail, a black wool star shaped center, a decorative colorful fringe border trim along the top and bottom, with green selvage sides edging. This outstanding oversized large banquet size shawl tablecover measures 138 inches long and 60 inches wide. It is in fair as-is condition, with several small frayed holes scattered in areas and fraying along the green selvage side edging (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful large banquet size example of paisley textile art. $150 |
