This
extraordinary antique wool paisley shawl coat dates from the 1920s.
It is made of an earlier Victorian era 1860s jacquard hand loomed
woven wool shawl done in strong vivid vibrant colors of red, orange,
brown, green, gold, black and white in a decorative paisley pattern
design. This stunning shawl was beautifully custom made into a fabulous
floor length long winter coat. It is loose fitting, with a large
shawl style collar which can be worn rolled up for warmth, long
full sleeves and snaps for closure along the side, with a inside
tie. The coat is unlined and measures 47 inches long, with 44 inch
hips, a 40 inch waist, 42 inch bust, 15 inch back and 20 inch long
sleeves. It is in good wearable condition, with only some fraying
under the arms (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful one of
a kind wearable piece of paisley textile art.
