This vintage Czech Bohemia folk costume pleated floral embroidered apron skirt dates from the early 20th century. It is hand stitched, made of a pleated black cotton fabric, with red, white and blue raised padded satin stitch embroidery work done in a floral leaf design. There is black needle lace, red and green silk ribbon trim sewn along the bottom hem. This women's fabulous folk Bohemian Czech peasant costume pinafore apron skirt is a long mid length and has a tie back closure. The apron is a museum deaccession, with a "Czeck Apron" tag sewn inside (see close-up). The apron measures 33 inches long, with a 32 inch adjustable waist. It is in good condition, with some fraying of the silk ribbon trim. This is truly a rare and wonderful piece of wearable Bohemia Czech textile folk art! $100 |
