1920s Vintage Robe de Style Cream Silk Rosette Pannier Hoop Wedding Dress Gown
This antique robe de style cream silk rosette pannier hoop wedding dress dates from the 1920s. It is made of an off white cream color sheer silk chiffon fabric, with silk ribbon work rosette floral trim and embroidered braided accents. There are tiny crystal beading sewn along the bottom hemline. This beautiful bridal wedding dress has a robe de style which was a romantic alternative to the chemise dress popular in the 1920s. It has a layered bodice top, cut away flared flowing sleeves, a drop waist, smocking pleated gathers along the hips, with a flared pannier hoop sewn inside along the sides creating a low and wide at the hips style. There are side snap closures and it is fully lined with a cream silk slip sewn inside. The dress measures 52 inches long, with 40 inch hips, a 34 inch waist and 40 inch bust. It is in good wearable condition, with a small faint age spot stain on the back sleeve and a small fray on the inside slip underarm area near the snap closure. This is a rare and wonderful piece of wearable wedding 1920s flapper bridal textile art!
