This antique Edwardian era white cotton batiste embroidered eyelet butterfly lace dress dates from 1915. It is made of a sheer white cotton batiste lawn fabric, with embroidered eyelet cutwork of flowers, butterflies and scalloped trim edging. This beautiful butterfly summer white dress is a long tea length, with an attached cropped short overblouse, fold over scalloped collar, a lace trim net camisole dickey front insert, 3/4 length sleeves, square crochet covered button trim accents, a fitted waistband with blue silk ribbon bow trim on front, hook, snap closures down the front and is sheer, unlined. The dress measures 49 inches long, with a 25 inch waist and 32 inch bust. It is in good condition, but has not been cleaned, with soiling on the back collar and slight bluing color in areas. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable art.
