Victorian Black Leather Jet Beaded Button Strap Shoes. |
This pair of antique Victorian era black leather jet beaded button strap shoes date from 1905. They are made of black leather, with hand beaded black jet glass beads done in a spiral scrolling design pattern on the front toes. These beautiful black beaded ladies elegant evening shoes have crisscrossing button straps across the instep front vamps, with 2 inch high leather French Louis XV heels and pointed toes. They are gold embossed inside the leather soles "H. Jantzen Shoe Co. N.Y." The shoes measure 11 inches long and 2 3/4 inches wide. These antique shoes are difficult to size for today's foot but my guess would be approximately a US size 7 narrow width. They are in good condition and have been gently worn. One leather strap is torn, but still attached at the top. These are beautiful quality made antique shoes and are a museum deaccession. |
