This pair of Edwardian era vintage Gundlach's black silk beaded button strap Mary Jane shoes date from 1910. They are made of a black silk satin fabric with jet, steel cut beadwork on the straps and vamps. These womens Mary Jane style shoes have a beaded button strap closure across the front instep, decorative floral beading on the vamps, pointed toes and silk covered French Louis XV spool heels. There is a "Gundlach's Oakland & Berkley" shoe company label stamped in gold lettering inside on the insoles. The shoes measure 9 1/2 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, with a 2 1/2 inch high heels. They are approximately a size 5 1/2 or 6 narrow width. The shoes are in fair as-is condition, with only some wear, frayed scuffs on the toes, side back heels and the straps have been cut with added elastic bands to be made larger across the instep (see close-ups).
